Scott Snell RN, BSN

Introduction

Picture
Hello, my name is Scott Snell. I am an Associate Professor in the Practical Nursing program at the College of Southern Idaho. I am also finishing up my graduate degree in Nursing at Idaho State University and hope to complete the program this May.

I love to have fun, learn, and teach...simultaneously. If I can accomplish all three while teaching upcoming practical nurses, my job is done.

More will come as I develop this website.

About me...

I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. So I am a long way from home. But sometimes, home is where you make it. I live in Twin Falls with my wife and two wonderful children.
I graduated from Troy State University (now
Troy University) with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2003 and have worked in many different areas of the hospital (e.g. ER, ICU, PACU, Surgery). I have been with the College of Southern Idaho since 2006 and have never enjoyed my profession more. I believe I was meant to teach, and have finally found my niche in the world.
I was lucky enough to land the position of instructor in the Practical Nursing program and they have seen fit, in recent years, to promote me to assistant professor. I currently teach several courses and utilize high-fidelity simulation (pictured right) to help prepare students for the real world of nursing by placing them in charge of their own learning.
I am hard, I am fair...but most importantly, I push students to learn as much as they can before entering the challenging world of nursing.
Thumbs up for learning!
